Dominic McCarthy came to our home from time to time during the 1960s. I learned this one from his playing of it on my single-row accordion. Dominic was from Clara in Co. Offaly and drove his lorry hauling briquettes from Mountlucas Briquette Factory, and delivering his load to different towns in the midlands. This sort of travel allowed him to find the whereabouts of a variety of accordions that he bought and sold.
