This is one of the many great hornpipes that were written by west Co. Clare fiddler Junior Crehan. He names it after the hills that are part of the landscape of Coore. There is much more information on Junior and his compositions in a book published by his daughter, Angela Crotty, Martin ‘Junior’ Crehan, Musical Compositions and Memories 1908-1998.
