This one is named after an historical landmark close to Limerick City. I first heard it played by accordion player Tommy Smallen of Croghan, Co. Offaly. Later I learned all of it from another accordion player, John Bowe of Birr, Co. Offaly. As is with many old tunes, the origin of this one is lost to the passage of time.
