Slievenamon is a famous mountain in Co. Tipperary from which this tune gets its name. It was usually a favorite of Paolo Soprani B/C box players of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. It was popularized by Paddy O’Brien of Newtown, Co. Tipperary.
