One of Donegal’s great traditional fiddlers was Mickey Doherty, who has too often been overshadowed by his brother John. It’s interesting to compare their individual styles as solo players on old recordings. When learning this jig, I was captivated by Mickey’s distinctive approach for letting loose a tuneful dance melody.
