€10

Help ensure that the well of Irish music, song and dance is preserved for present and future generations.

€20

Donations of any level help ITMA digitise, preserve and offer free universal access to valuable materials that would otherwise be lost.

€100

The support of donors ensures ITMA can deliver an increasingly better service. Without private support, the transformative year we experienced in 2023 would not have been possible.

€200

Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

€250

Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

€500

ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

Markree castle [comp. Néillidh Ó Maolagáin], jig

from Compositions by Néillidh Ó Maolagáin

Jig

Also known as:
Markree castle [comp. Néillidh Ó Maolagáin], jig

My niece and godchild Siobhán Ní Mhaolagáin married John Pfluegler from Australia, in Markree Castle near Colooney in County Sligo in October 2022.

To mark the occasion I put this jig together which I played with many of the extended Mulligan family at the ceremony in the Castle on a beautiful autumn day. Markree Castle, which is now a family run hotel, is one of the largest castles in Ireland.
