Apart from Paddy O’Brien himself, the most knowledgeable person about the 1,500 tunes in the Paddy O’Brien Tune Collection has to be Mark Bickford. Over the last year or so Mark has listened to every note, either transcribing the tune himself or proofing the transcriptions of others. Some of his favourites are those tunes that Paddy has written himself, but as these feature in another playlist of Paddy O’Brien Compositions he has kept those out of this selection. This playlist includes tunes that Mark particularly liked, that made an impression on him and that he enjoyed transcribing and playing.
