The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
ITMA is delighted to announce the appointment Ellen King to the position of Project Officer for the Christy Moore Collection.
Ellen acquired an MPhil in Public History and Cultural Heritage from Trinity College Dublin in 2021. Ellen has a background in research, cultural heritage, public history, the arts and PR. Since graduating she has worked as a researcher on various projects including Centry Ireland — an online newspaper archive project — and the documentary film In Time- Donal Lunny about the life and career of esteemed musician and producer Donal Lunny.
In her role as Project Officer, Ellen will help develop an exhibition space for the Christy Moore Collection in 73 Merrion Square. Christy Moore donated his personal archive to ITMA in recent years with the aim of making it accessible to the public.
Said Ellen: “Christy Moore is one of Irelands most lauded, notable and beloved folk musicians and I’m honoured to be part of the team at ITMA who, through the medium of exhibition will give the public access to his rich and varied personal archive.”
