Leading traditional artists Seán McKeon (pipes), Jesse Smith (fiddle) and Libby McCrohan (bouzouki) will perform material inspired by the RTÉ and ITMA Archives. They will be joined during the tour by a host of local guest musicians, singers and dancers including Emer Mayock, Jillian O’Malley (flutes), Liam and Pauline Scanlon (dance), Méabh Ní Lochnáin (song), Clíodhna Costello (banjo), Pádraic Keane (pipes), Helen Diamond (song) Seosamh Ó Neachtain (dance), Caoimhe Flannery (fiddle), Matt Crannitch (fiddle), Liam O’Brien (concertina), Ciarán Ó Maonaigh (fiddle) and others.
Concerts will also feature a panel dialogue to discuss the solo player in Irish music, chaired by RTÉ broadcaster Aoife Nic Cormaic and ITMA’s Seán Potts.
A number of the performances will be recorded by RTÉ Radio 1 for future broadcasts on The Rolling Wave series.
