I wrote this slip jig while sitting at a piano at Pat Broaders’ house, my longtime friend and bandmate. Though I didn’t set out specifically to write Pat a tune, it ended up being a jig, Open the Door for Three’s favorite kind of tune. It seemed only fitting that it be dedicated to Pat and the street on which his warm and wonderful home sits, a house that myself and my husband have been welcomed in so many times over the years. Pat and Sara are truly family and their more than pleasant home feels like a home away from home.
