from Compositions by Liz Knowles
These three jigs were written during my earliest days of playing Irish music when I was playing with accordion player, John Whelan. I learned a lot from John so I felt I owed him some tunes! We recorded all three jigs for my first solo album, “The Celtic Fiddle of Liz Knowles” and they were intended, at first, to be played together as a set, but I love that the tunes have had some appeal as individual tunes too. I was thrilled that Jig No. 3 was recorded by Flook on their album “Haven”, the second tune in the set called “Mouse Jigs”.
