The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.
Christy Moore: How Do Songs Live? is ITMA’s new public exhibition containinh unique materials from Ireland’s most celebrated singer’s personal archive. Generously donated to ITMA in 2023, the collection spans over six decades and includes lyric notebooks, correspondence, recordings, setlists, photographs, and press materials.
As part of his exceptional donation, Christy Moore also recorded 188 songs in ITMA’s studio, often reciting personal stories and memories that went along with them. These recordings will be available to listen to as part of the exhibition.
The Exhibition is open Monday-Friday from 11am-5pm. On Mondays, ITMA is offering tickets at a pay-what-you-can rate to ensure that everyone is able to access the exhibition. However we do ask for Monday tickets that, if you’re able to, you consider making a donation of any amount to ITMA during the checkout process.
