    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance.     Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    Eoghan Rua Ó Súilleabháin (1748-1784) who was born near Killarney is still remembered as Eoghan of the Sweet Mouth. His poem, ‘Rodney’s Glory’, inspired the well-known set dance that is still danced today. The origin of the O’Sullivan’s marches is not known. They were probably composed by musicians who played harps or pipes.
