The title of this may have been inspired by Longfellow’s poem, ‘The Song of Hiawatha’. It has been recorded by fiddlers Sean Maguire and Jerry Holland, who play it in its original key of B flat. I learned it many years ago from fiddling maestro Peter Ostroushko from northeast Minneapolis, Minnesota.
