This is one of the very first hornpipes composed by Ed Reavy. Michael Coleman recorded it on a 78 rpm record in 1944. It has been a longtime favorite among fiddlers of the Sligo tune tradition for several generations. Accordion players were apt to play it in performance situations, especially at contests where every note counts, with adjudicators looking hard over their spectacles!
