When living in Dublin during the early Seventies, I was fortunate enough to be in Croke Park for a rehearsal which was a prelude to a weekend of Fleadh Nua festivities. At one point, Paddy O’Brien came onstage with other musicians and the first tune played was this jig. I had not heard it before. Finally, I learned it from Joe Burke’s playing of it, which I taped off a TV show called ‘Bring Down the Lamp’.
