This tune is an old east Co. Clare jig from Paddy Canny’s father, Pat Canny. Fiddle player Martin Hayes learned it from Paddy himself, and taught it to me one afternoon at my home in Minneapolis. We have since played it during many a great night (along with bouzouki player Pat Broaders from Dublin) at John D. McGurk’s Bar in the Soulard area of Saint Louis, Missouri.
