The Keegan tunes : book 3, Tune 29.
The white heron, as we called it, was spotted on a farm in Mullaghbawn in early spring 2009, and seen just once. After some little research it seems it was most likely to have been the Great Egret, or even the Cattle Egret, which often spends time near livestock. This bird, which evolved in the African savannah, has migrated to many countries and has been seen in recent years in France, Southern England, south of Ireland and lately spotted further north in County Down.
