The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.

The collection centres around the songs, stories and recitations that were heard at a ‘time’, the term for a house gathering in Newfoundland. Included in the collection are:
The original microsite was funded by the Arts Council and The Arts Council of Northern Ireland with assistance from Culture Ireland, as well as local partners in Newfoundland: The Town of Branch, The Rooms, and The Newfoundland Folk Festival.
