On 1 January 2016 ITMA launched its Facebook year with a wonderful video of uilleann piper Padraig McGovern playing The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba recorded in Armagh Cathedral. Tens of thousands of Facebook followers viewed, shared and enjoyed this virtuoso performance.

Celebrating Goodman: Seminar, Launch & Concert

James Goodman (1828–1896), a native of Dingle, Co. Kerry, was a canon of the Church of Ireland and Professor of Irish in Trinity College Dublin.  However he is now chiefly known as the compiler of an outstanding Irish traditional music manuscript collection containing more than 2,300 tunes. The manuscripts are held in the Library of Trinity College.
