    The Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is committed to providing free, universal access to the rich cultural tradition of Irish music, song and dance. If you’re able, we’d love for you to consider a donation. Any level of support will help us preserve and grow this tradition for future generations.

    The support of donors ensures ITMA can deliver an increasingly better service. Without private support, the transformative year we experienced in 2023 would not have been possible.

    Make your donation go further: a donation of €250 or more in any tax year is worth an additional 44.93% to ITMA. So for €50 more, ITMA can claim an additional €112.33 tax back from revenue.

    Irish-based donors can see their donations augmented by the State through the CHY3 form, which makes any donation above €250 worth €362.33 towards ITMA’s archival work, at no additional cost to you.

    ITMA is eligible for 501(c)3 donations, so for potential donors based in the USA, donating to ITMA can be a tax efficient way of making more and more archival material accessible to remote users.

    Tá an port seo ar an gceathrú píosa ceoil i ngrúpa cheithre cinn a chas Colm le portaireacht bhéil agus a d’athscríobh  Séamus Ennis. Sna nótaí leis an athscríobh ar na ceolta scríobh Ennis ‘Sean phoirt béil ó Cholm Ó Caodháin’. Ar na ceolta bhí  ‘Port na Giobóige’, port ar ar thug sé ‘Port na Sióige’  agus píosa ar a dtug sé ‘Titse Miller’. Cé go dtugtar ‘Dusty Miller’ ar an bpíosa ceoil ‘Titse Miller’ agus go seinntear go forleathan é, tá an chuma air gur ceolta áitiúla na cinn eile. Ba mhinic Ennis a rá amhrán agus ag seinm ceoil a bhí bailithe i gConamara aige. Mar shampla, nuair a thug sé cuairt ar Dhún na nGall scríobh sé ‘Iarradh orm amhrán a rá agus dúras ‘Fill, Fill a Rúin Ó’ (Spidéal). Crochadh an teach… Is maith an scéal sin d’amhráin Chonamara’. (18.8.43)
