The Johnstons were a popular 1960s folk band formed in Slane, Co. Meath by siblings Adrienne, Lucy and Michael Johnston. The trio were joined by Mick Moloney, and in 1967 Paul Brady replaced Michael in the group.

Recently on 23 May, during the annual Johnstons Festival at Slane Castle, Mick Moloney donated a collection of memorabilia relating to the band collected by his mother Maura.

The donation consists of: Magazines, programmes, photographs, newspaper clippings, ephemera and 18 LPs relating to the ballad group The Johnstons, 1960s–1990s.

The material will be processed over the coming months, and will be available to view in ITMA.
