On 11 October 2018, Treasa Harkin joined broadcaster Michael Sullivan to chat about our 2018 ITMA Sort-A-Thons.
A Sort-A-Thon is an occasion for members of the public to lend a hand with the organisation of ITMA's ephemera collection. Ephemera refers to concert posters, programmes, tickets, flyers, and all of the "stuff" that is created around musical happenings. This "stuff" often reveals unique information about Irish traditional music, its performers, and history.
There's also a lot of it, so having our users help us with organising it all is a vital part of ensuring the collection at ITMA is searchable and materials accessible.
The next ITMA Sort-A-Thon will take place on Saturday, 17 November 2018. Email [email protected] if you would like to get involved.
The interview broadcast on Near FM's Lifeline and can be heard online as a podcast. Listen now.
