Grace Toland, Director of ITMA, has announced that she intends to step down from her current role with effect from late Summer 2019

Grace Toland

The Board of ITMA is extremely pleased that Grace, who has been a staff member since 2006, will continue to be a fulltime staff member of the Archive when she moves from her current role.

The Board would like to acknowledge Grace Toland’s pivotal role in ITMA’s development and progress during her tenure as Director since July 2015. Under her leadership, the Archive enhanced its position as the national archive and resource centre for Irish traditional music, song and dance. Grace represented ITMA publicly, maintained and developed relationships with partners and stakeholders and spearheaded several significant innovations, particularly in the areas of access and digital preservation. She was a steady guiding hand in ITMA operations and played an important role in developing ITMA’s Strategy for the forthcoming period 2019-2023. The Board thanks Grace Toland and looks forward to her continuing contribution as part of the ITMA team.

A vacancy for the position of Director of the Archive will therefore arise in August/September 2019 and further details are available at
