ITMA adds sound to Branar's Sruth na Teanga

ITMA is delighted to have shared sound recordings from its collections for Branar's new bilingual immersive theatre event Sruth na Teanga.

Sruth Na Teanga 2020

Branar Téatar do Pháistí is one of the leading theatre companies making work for children in Ireland. This new work running 2-28 March 2020 at Galway Airport combines live performance, puppetry, animation and an original score.

The songs and music supplied by ITMA will feature in the 'Archive Room' where visitors will hear a variety of music played through gramophone horns.

The individual sound recordings were selected from curated collections which are currently online on the ITMA website:

Leo Rowsome King of the Pipers, 78 rpm Disc Recordings 1926–1944

ITMA Henebry Cylinder Recordings 2, c. 1905

Medley of Musicians and Singers, 1950s
