On Friday 18 September, Culture Night 2020, ITMA and Clare Arts Office premiered a new film inspired by the music, song and dance of County Clare. This new work originated from a Creator-in-Residence scheme offered by ITMA and Clare Arts Office in 2018.

Interweaving the contemporary & archival, it features the voices & music of Martin Hayes, Geraldine Cotter, Caoilfhionn Ní Fhrighil, Claire Egan, Liam O'Brien, Siney Crotty, Paddy Canny, Willie Clancy and Jack Talty.

Maurice & Jack were on the red carpet on Culture Night in Glór, Ennis, Co. Clare when two screenings of the film followed by Q&A session were held in front of a live audience.

ITMA's role that evening was to open the door to a virtual audience and the film premiered at 5:30pm on ITMA social media platforms & website.

We are delighted that the film remains freely available to view & enjoy since then.

Jack Talty is a traditional musician, producer, composer, and researcher from Lissycasey in county Clare. He is the founding director of the traditional music label, Raelach Records and was Traditional Artist in Residence at University College Cork in 2018.

Maurice Gunning is a photographer and documentary filmmaker from Limerick. He is the Photographer in Residence at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, and his work has been exhibited internationally with support from the Arts Council and Culture Ireland.
