Although I’ve never left the nation
As you may guess I have roved all round
And attended numerous entertainments
In the country and the town.

I must confess I’m fond of rambling
And travels almost everywhere
The best time I’ve had since I was born
Was in the bog with the Millionaire.

There we discussed the labour problem
And the social question too
And we dealt with all our Irish statesmen
The old home rule and likewise the new.

We regulated the situation
And left old Ireland fair and square
And put everyman in a good position
When in the bog with the millionaire.

We often hear of Scotland’s beauty
And of her daughters young and fair
It’s of them you’ll get the grand description
When in the bog with the millionaire.

In Irish history it is written
How Saint Columba crossed the foam
To the lonely island of Iona
There he founded his holy home.

Saint Kilda is a lovely island
I can’t describe as I’ve not been there
But if you want the full particulars
You must apply to the millionaire.

If I would describe our conversation
It would take me far too long
And besides you might be weary
Of my rude and rustic song.

But I do earnestly desire
Although he toils for his humble fare
That kind heaven send a blessing
On our bogside millionaire.
