Róisín Chambers

Róisín Chambers is a sean-nós singer and fiddle player from Dublin. From a family of musicians she has been singing sean-nós and playing the fiddle for the past fifteen years learning her music and singing originally in Craobh Naithi,  Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann in south Dublin and attending workshops around Ireland experiencing many different influences. Róisín learned her songs originally from Úna bn Nic Mhathúna in Craobh Naithi. Her singing has been influenced mainly by the Connemara style of sean-nós singing having grown up listening to recordings of singers such as Darach Ó Catháin. However, being born and bred in Dublin Róisín considers herself truly to be a Dublin style sean-nós singer. She has taken part and won honours in Oireachtas, Fleadh Cheoil and Siamsa bands over the years.
