Screening of a fascinating snapshot of the lives and music of some of the finest musicians in the history of Irish traditional music. In 1965, Lennart Malmer, a young film maker from Sweden travelled to Ireland in search of music. Throughout his trip, Lennart filmed the people, places and events he encountered, culminating with a journey to Miltown Malbay, where he met Willie Clancy and was invited into the uilleann piper's home on the Flag Road.
ITMA and Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy are delighted to welcome Lennart Malmer to the 2022 edition of the summer school, to screen his film, and pick up again on his journey which he started all those years ago.
