James Goodman Manuscripts
Music & songs selected from the 19th century Canon James Goodman Irish Music Manuscript Collection. Featuring Aoife Ní Bhriain, fiddle, Caoimhín Ó Fearghail, uilleann pipes & vocals, with narration & video imagery by Grace Toland and Michael Fortune.
ITMA continues to play an enduring role in promoting awareness of the Canon James Goodman Irish Music Collection housed in Trinity College Dublin Library.
In collaboration with UK based Irish Heritage, we present a performance of live music featuring fiddle player Aoife Ní Bhriain and uilleann piper, singer Caoimhín Ó Fearghail. The story of the collection's journey from 19th century page to stage will be told in images and words by video artist Michael Fortune and ITMA Director Grace Toland.
This performance will take place on the 5 October 2017 in Kennedy Hall, Cecil Sharp House the home of the English Folk Dance & Song Society. Tickets are now available from Irish Heritage.
