ITMA continues its monthly series of public events with the Irish premiere of Chasing Michael Davitt a film documentary by singer/musician Dónal Maguire and film maker Paul Vernon Lydiate.

Based on the life of the 19th century Irish politician Michael Davitt (1846−1906), this screening will take you on a musical journey through his life as agrarian agitator, founder of the Irish National Land League, and Home Rule advocate.

In this film Dónal Maguire continues to champion Michael Davitt’s role in Irish history, having released his CD Michael Davitt: the forgotten hero? published by Rossendale Records in 2006.  This collaboration with historical documentary film maker Paul Vernon Lydiate brings Michael Davitt’s life to a new audience.

ITMA is delighted to welcome Dónal Maguire to 73 Merrion Square to launch the film in Ireland.
