Collecting and Community: Irish Music and the Authority of the Badge
Time: 18:30 GMT Date: Tuesday 19 July 2022 Venue: ITMA Library Event OverAuthor, Michael O'Malley, will give a talk about the life and work of Francis O'Neill, Collector of Irish music and Chief of Police in Chicago in the early years of the 20th century.
This is the subject of Michael's new book, Beat Cop, which will also be launched on the night. Leading uilleann piper Mick O'Brien will perform tunes by Patsy Touhey & Barney Delaney, and there will also be music from Liam O'Connor and Caoilfhionn & Sorcha Ní Scolaí.
