Sung to play by a group of six young Magilligan girls.“Dusky bluebells” are probably in question. Other references to “the dusting bluebells” are found in L Daiken’s Children’s games throughout the year (1949:154), JTR Ritchie’s Golden City (1965:164). In 1972, David Hammond (BBC N Ireland) adopted “Dusty bluebells” as the title of a TV film on street games in Belfast.
