Help Us to Help You

Accurate transcriptions of the words of the some 700 songs presented on the Góilín Song Project microsite would be of great assistance to anyone who wishes to learn these songs, and indeed also to listeners.

ITMA therefore asks for the help of interested individuals – and especially of the actual singers on the recordings – in transcribing the words of the songs, and in emailing them to ITMA for checking and eventual uploading to the Góilín Song Project site. All transcriptions will be credited on the site to the transcriber.

Such a large task will have to be organised by ITMA, which will first allocate to volunteers a small number of specific songs for transcription. In the first instance therefore, we ask anyone interested to send their email address to us from here. We will then be in touch with you in due course (please be patient!) to allocate a number of songs to you for transcription, and to take it from there.

To expand and further enhance the Góilín Song Project microsite, which will be an ongoing activity, ITMA asks for the donation of other Góilín-related recordings, audio or video, and for photographs and printed and manuscript materials. These will all be preserved, and taken into consideration for future uploading to the site.
