Finances

The Archive is funded year-on-year by the Arts Council/ An Chomhairle Ealaíon in Dublin as a Regularly Funded Organisation, and also by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland in Belfast, and by individual donors, especially through its support group Friends of the Archive.

The Archive has also achieved other significant State support. It has been allocated a historic Georgian house in central Dublin as its premises through the Office of Public Works, which has conserved and restored the building to the highest standards, and which is engaged in a continuing programme of further facility development.

The Archive also receives project funding from sponsors such as the Heritage Council, Cairde na Cruite, and the Ireland Newfoundland Partnership. In addition it receives support in kind from publishers and from hundreds of private donors (see Special Collections).

The Archive, however, is always in need of further financial support to extend its existing activities, to introduce new services, and to meet the exciting challenges of its new premises.
